Water sustainabilityThe world we live in is in a state of instability. What with our water consumption increasing in every country every year. Soon, we will bleed the earth dry seen as only 1% of the entire water supply available to the human race is pure, consumable water. This is why it is imperative for our generation, and later generations to come, to learn the importance of water sustainability.

Water consumption
In a year, a family can waste up to 246375 liters of water. If this is multiplied by more than 7 billion people on earth, the numbers will fill an A5 notebook page. And only 1 % of all water available on earth is drinkable. It would run out in a few years. The amount of water consumption a family uses in a day needs to be decreased by 5-10 years. there are ways to decrease water consumption in a day. Here's a list of them...
-Use a side washing machine instead of a top-opening washing machine.
-use buckets to clean your car instead of hoses
-Take 5-10 minute showers only
-Use low pressure taps
-use more tap water to cook
-Turn of tap when brushing your teeth. turn it on only when rinsing

Why we are so wasteful
The human race consumes nearly a trillion liters of water every day, the average person using 400 liters daily. That is only for one day, but imagine the numbers of liters we have used over the past hundreds of thousands of years ! Very soon, the earth will be bone dry, and the number of water consumption per day needs to be decreased. There are only a few ways in this world where we could sustain water. By 50 years, we should already find a way to keep water for the feeding of more than 7 billion people

Trip to water sustainability center, year 9 class, dbs
Our year 9 Science class went on a water sustainability center trip in Doha, Qatar. The trip helped us to develop an understanding of how saving water is vital for our World. We would like to thank the Conoco Philips Water Sustainability Centre in Doha, Qatar for having us, and educating us. Also, a big thanks goes out to our teachers, Mrs Garcia and Mrs Potter.
